Backyard Beauties™

Small trees with big fruit. Backyard Beauties™ is an extensive range of dwarf fruit trees. They are perfect for pots, tubs and growing in confined spaces.

Backyard Beauties™ is a range of fruit trees that we have specially selected for home gardeners. These trees are exceptional full sized varieties, OR designed for smaller spaces and are referred to as ‘dwarf’ trees – which means smaller trees with full size fruit. Both are considered to be of exceptional value and benefit to the home gardener.

We want to help make your gardening experience better and more rewarding, and to help you to have confidence that you are buying a plant that will give you excellent value for money.

The Backyard Beauties™ range is second to none when it comes to quality of fruit, not to mention the advantage of many being ‘dwarf’ fruit trees. This means they can grow in both the ground or in pots or tubs.

Dwarf trees in the Backyard Beauties™ range will do all their growing in the first 12 months after planting and once they start to fruit the growth will slow down significantly therefore all tree training should be completed in the first 12 months. With all varieties maturing at different times over the season you would not have to buy an Apple, Pear, Nectarine, Peach, Plum or Apricot all summer.

The first plants to be included in the Backyard Beauties™ range were the Super Dwarf Sunset Peach™ and Super Dwarf Sunset Nectarine™Apart from being red leafed, dwarfing and very low chill, one of the main reasons for including these plants in the inaugural launch of Backyard Beauties™ is because they can be grown by most gardeners in Australia, including kids. These were followed by Pinkabelle® and Leprechaun™ apples. PlantNet® has a genuine rootstock exclusive to PlantNet® and suitable for all stone fruit varieties which we can choose to propagate any great eating variety onto.

Blueberry Burst®  and Blueberry Kisses® are the most popular products in this range! Recently added into this range are our exceptional citrus, fig, and columnar apples, included due to the ability of the home gardener to grow each and every one of them with ease.

Suitable growing regions can be found on each product page. Dwarf trees should be staked permanently as the trees will produce high crop loads. Keep an eye out for the Backyard Beauties™ logo, pictured above, when shopping in your local nursery.

Great information can be found on growing the Backyard Beauties range on our plant care pages.

All varieties and genuine dwarf rootstocks used in this range are exclusive to PlantNet® and its own wholesale nursery members and can only be used under the PlantNet® brand.
