Growing in Adelaide – I planted these lovely, well grown apple saplings, (Herald and Cumulus for cross pollination), winter 2020, and have been well rewarded. They’ve grown evenly and well, and survived an inchworm attack with flying colours. Holey leaves, but still growing strongly and not too fast, with a continuance of the shortened spacing between spurs and branches. Compact and lovely, placed with only 30cm between their trunks, I’ll be happy if they eventually merge. After a trace element dose this year, and a good settling in this season, I expect less pest attack next year, and will allow them to bear one or two apples each. They held fruit, however I didn’t want to risk it the first year after transplanting.
