Elephant Heart Plum has been available in Australia for many years and PlantNet® now makes it available as Dwarf Elephant Heart Plum. All plum varieties chosen in the Dwarf range produce full size fruit and are sweet and crisp to eat. Please be advised we recommend dwarf trees are staked permanently due to trees producing high crop loads.

Elephant heart plums were developed in California in the early 20th century. This plum is a large, heart shaped plum with light red flesh and dark red skin. Elephant heart plum is a variety you’ll seldom find at the farmers market – this excellent plum is best straight out of your backyard!

Suitability
Not recommended for coastal Queensland northern New South Wales as winters are not cold enough to produce fruit.
