D’Agen prune/plum has been available in Australia for many years. PlantNet® now makes it available as a dwarf variety of plum.

D’agen plum is also known as the ‘prune plum’ – it’s high sugar content makes it ideal for drying! Apparently introduced to Europe by Benedictine Monks, and later to the whole world by the horticultural industry, D’agen is truly one of the most history laden plum varieties out there. Still preferred due to its excellent taste, this variety is a great choice for Aussie home gardeners!

Suitability
Not recommended for coastal Queensland or northern New South Wales as winters are not cold enough to produce fruit.
