Many plane trees are susceptible to Anthracnose fungal disease and powdery mildew attack. Vallis Clausa™ has been has been selected because of its resistance to both diseases. It is also resistant to Lace bug attack.
The leaves in this selection of plane tree are dark green turning to all shades of colour in Autumn in cooler growing areas. It is an upright growing tree and should be tipped when young to encourage lower branching of limbs. It is a hardy tree and will withstand frost once established. This variety can be a great feature plant, used for hedging, and is ideal for use in landscaping projects.
Not recommended for coastal Queensland and Northern New South Wales, due to the high rainfall.
